Our goal in treating periodontal disease is to get the pain and infection under control  for your pet and save as many teeth possible.  

On occasion it is necessary to extract an infected or damaged tooth that is not loose in the bony socket. This decision is part of the treatment plan.

Treatment to save a tooth may include:

• Bonded sealants for teeth with enamel chips/defects
• Doxirobe treatments for deep gum pockets (add antibiotic implant?)
• Root planing and advancing gum flaps
• Interceptive orthodontics (extracting selected teeth to allow one of the main teeth to be vital and in the correct position for function )
• Bone graft like implants to help regenerate bone loss around the root of a loose tooth
• Root canals to save the structure of the dead tooth
